Xtream Codes player: what to check before you start

What details does a player need?

Players commonly ask for these three fields. Exact labels vary by app, so follow the instructions supplied with your account.

Server address

The address supplied by your source, including the protocol and any port it specifies. A provider's public website and its playback server are not necessarily the same address.

Username

The username for your content account. This may differ from the account used to buy or activate the player app.

Password

The matching content-account password. Keep it private, together with the server address and username.

Use only sources you are authorised to access. We do not provide accounts, server addresses or playlists.

Xtream Codes or M3U?

An M3U setup starts with a playlist URL or file. An Xtream Codes setup commonly starts with the separate account fields above. Choose the method explicitly supported by both your source and your player.

Neither method guarantees better picture quality or fewer interruptions. Results also depend on the stream, network, device and player. A playlist loading successfully is not proof that every referenced stream is available.

Before entering an account on your TV

1. Confirm that your chosen player supports Xtream Codes on your specific device.
2. Copy the server address exactly as provided, including its protocol and port. Avoid spaces introduced when copying.
3. Use the content-account credentials, rather than your app-store or player-purchase password.
4. Check which features the player exposes for your account: live TV, programme information and other catalogue sections may differ.
5. Keep credentials out of shared screenshots and support posts. Describe the error without publishing the full account details.

If the login or catalogue fails

First distinguish a rejected login from an empty catalogue or a single stream that will not play. For a rejected login, confirm the address and credentials with your source. For a partial catalogue, check the source's available sections and the player's support. If only one item fails, record which item and when it failed before contacting support.

Changing players is not a guaranteed fix for an expired account or unavailable source.
